The building was designed by the architectural design firms of Moshe Safdie and Associates based in Boston Massachusetts, in partnership with the local Wichita Kansas firm of Schafer Johnson Cox Frey Architecture.

The planning and design of the theaters and the exhibitions for Exploration Place was done by three firms who came together for this project and operated under the name of WTG.LLC.
